Help Refugees

Because of the internal fighting within Myanmar/Burma and the resulting persecution of minority groups, tens of thousands of Burmese refugees have fled the country and now reside in large refugee camps within Thailand.

Some of these camps hold well over 100,000 internally displaced people or IDP’s.  COC Thailand is actively working in two of the largest camps in Thailand.  We hold regular children’s outreaches, seminars, leadership training, as well as provide practical care such as providing medicine and food.

Within the camps, these Burmese are cut off from extended family, their livelihoods, and opportunities for their children.  Some have lived in these camps for over twenty years!  Some were born in the camp and we later married within the camps.  Yet despite the hardships, the Gospel is making ground and people are finding real hope in Jesus Christ.
