Pure and Undefiled Religion
There is always a shortfall of finances for Myanmar, to help Burmese orphaned, abandoned, and at risk children. Yet James 1:27 says, that pure and undefiled religion before God is to look after widows and orphans in their distress. There are very few places that are more distressed than the nation of Myanmar or Burma.
In the nation we have trained the widows to look after orphans, so we are able to care for both at the same time.
These widows are champions of faith and true prayer warriors. Their husbands have been arrested or put to death or have died of natural causes. Some children go to local schools but some are actually educated by the widows. Each home has usually between 40-90 children per home but some have more.
Top Needs for Supporting the Orphans and Widows of Burma:
If we had the needed funds, we would…
- 1. Give all of our orphan children a third meal a day. They only get two meals per day now because of cost. Immediately their health, strength, and well being would improve.
- 2. Implement better medical programs to care for them. We have an Australian trained doctor on staff who has given 7 years to serve and is commited for life.
We want to run seminars and training programs to raise up medical programs for the homes. We can buy all of our medicine within Burma but need the finances to purchase the medicine and set up small clinics. There is a very limited amount of medical help in the country, so it is a huge need. Doctors get paid $10 a month in salary which is about what a taxi driver makes in the country. All we need to do this, is partnership from folks like you.
- 3. We would help build better and longer lasting structures for the children to live in. We would keep them to small groups with more house parents to help take care of them. We could begin vocational training programs that would help our children find a marketable skill to make a living and become self sufficient.
